1) For those who’ve run into issues with patching Notepad2 I’ve posted a command line trick that should help when patching on slower computers.
2) For those of you who try to replace the default Windows Notepad here’s a small utility that should help any system file replacing -> Replacer
3)I didn’t use Replacer - I simply ran the following command (in the folder where my patched and renamed Notepad2 was) a couple of times and Windows did not reinstate original notepad.exe
copy notepad.exe c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386\notepad.exe
copy notepad.exe c:\windows\system32\dllcache\notepad.exe
copy notepad.exe c:\windows\system32\notepad.exe
copy notepad.exe c:\windows\notepad.exe
